Tutorial #3 : Burgundy Green 'Orked Lah!' Makeup Look

Assalammualaikum.

Hello people on earth. Mari sini rapat-rapat.
Today's look revolves around burgundy plum-ish color with the hint of green on the waterline. Reminds me of the iklan 'Orked lah!'. Randomness is my thang yauwl. This look is also featuring my Sleek i-Divine Ultra Dark Matte V2 palette which I did a review and swatch here if you want to cekidauttt.

Let's senteng lengan baju and begin shall we?

******************************************************
Step 1 : Prime your eyelids. This step is A MUST, you hear me? MUST! Especially if you have oily eyelids like me. You wouldn't want your eyeshadow berlubang kan kan? Here I'm using Urban Decay Primer Portion. I have tried out many eye primers and this is the only one that actually works.
******************************************************

******************************************************
Step 2 : Next, a transition eyeshadow color. This step also is very crucial to blend everything together & to make the eyeshadow looks gradient; from dark color fading out to light color. I'm using here Creme Brulee from Makeup Geek, my go-to crease color. So you just need to swipe it on your crease, a little bit above your eye socket.
******************************************************

******************************************************
Aik, tiba-tiba putih pulak. Ini bukan testimonial Aura White. Haha. I took this using natural sunlight. That's why the reflection light is always changing. Well, anywaysssss..

Step 3: Take Maple from the Sleek palette and put it on the outer V corner of your eye, blending it upwards into the crease. And then put Flesh on the rest of the eyelid.
***************************************************

******************************************************
See, the light is changing again.

Step 4: Take Villain and put it on the outer V and blending it forward to the half of the eyelid. And then take the color Maple again and blend the edge of the Villain color.
******************************************************

******************************************************
Step 5: This step is optional. I just want the color on the lower lash line to pop that's why I put white base first. Take any white creamy base, I'm using here NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk and put it on the lower lash line and blend it using finger.
******************************************************

******************************************************
Step 6: Take Fern from the same palette and smoke it out on the lower lash line. After that your wing eyeliner will automatically be done.

Kidding! Wing out your eyeliner manually la please.
******************************************************

******************************************************
Step 7 : Coat your beautiful eyelashes with some mascara and put on fake lashes if you want and put Orked behind your ear and kibas-kibas skirt macam Aisyah 50sen and your FINALLY done!
******************************************************

Review : Sleek i-Divine Palette

Hello beautiful~

Sleek in the house baby!
*untuk dia hey, untuk dia hey*

No, not that group Sleek. This is makeup-Sleek. They're the UK cosmetic brand that provides an array of pretty awesome quality makeup with affordable price. I have only owned the contour kit & blush by 3 (which is GAHHHH so beautiful & pigmented!) and I've been scratching my entire body (armpit included) to try their eyeshadow palette. So when my favorite online beauty store, Luxola was having 30% off sales, gila kau tunggu lagi. Pelepap terus klik laju-laju mouse and placed my order on the Sleek i-Divine Palette.

I got the Sunset and Ultra Matte V1 & V2 (these two bundled together) palettes. Lepas discount the total RM melayang for these 3 gorgeous palettes was RM102.50. 1 palette contains 12 eyeshadows. So RM102.50 divides by 3 palettes with 12 eyeshadows in each palette, well you do the math.

Okay, don't bother. It's ~RM2.85 per eyeshadow pan. How can you not faint over that? HOWWWW?

Let's get to the review shall we now?

The palette comes with a sleek black sturdy packaging. A+ for the packaging as it is very simple and compact, so convenient for travelling. Not too small and not too bulky. Just nice, just nice.

Love the box packaging too. Can't go wrong with black box with splash of bright colors.

i-Divine Sunset
The palette's name says it all. It consists of 12 eyeshadows color inspired by the color of sunset; some reds, oranges & browns. This palette is by far my favorite one out of the three. The texture of the eyeshadows is so buttery and smooth with rich & intense pigmentation. Tangkap leleh beb.

I love how the vibrant colors have the right amount of shimmer. Not too subtle that you can barely see, and not too in-your-face glittery. My favorite eyeshadow colors from this palette are definitely the red coppery brownish colors ; #2, #3 & #8. They are soooo soooo creamy and buttery that you might spread it on your waffle. Dan kemudian apabila renyeh/sengih, kelihatan lah matahari terbenam di gigi.

Overall : 4.5/5
Will I buy it again? : Yes omg yes omg yes yes (over sangat, lempangkan please)

i-Divine Ultra Mattes V1
This palette consists of 12 bright & pop matte eyeshadows, which frankly is my least favorite palette. If only the pigmentation is as intense as the eye-catching fun colors, I'd go loco on this palette.

The texture of the eyeshahows is very powdery. Macam bedak. I was hoping the colors would be opaque macam Buncho crayon.  The color is there, tapi rasa berasap jugak la tangan nak swatch. I wonder if my palette masuk angin..? Haha. But I was fairly surprised to see the white colors (floss, crete & pow!) showed up well on my hand. I didn't have much expectation for the light colors especially since they are matte.

Overall : 3/5
Will I buy it again? : No. Tak mau tak mau

i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2
This palette has taken me by surprised as well. The dark colors are pretty pigmented and smooth. Except for the white ones. Dipandang malu, di swatch tak mahu bak kata orang. Orang mana kata aku pun tak tahu.
All the dark colors are exceptionally beautiful. Love love. My absolute fav colors are Maple, Villan & Fern.

Overall : 4.5/5
Will I buy it again? : Of course jemah oi

All in all, I think Sleek palettes are great to have and definitely worth the money. Some came out quite 'mehhhh', tapi lumrah dunia makeup lah tu. If you are planning to buy, I highly recommend the Sunset and Ultra Matte V2.

I'm so excited to play with the palettes. Will definitely come out with new eyeshadow look using these palettes soon.

Till my next review,
Toodaloo yauwl~

Tutorial #2 : Smokey Bronze Sate Ayam Makeup Look

Dari kerana mata....

Hello there!
I guess I was freaking starving when I did my makeup. I looked in the mirror and I saw sate ayam bergolek-golek in my eyes. Yum yum.

So let's learn how to get sate ayam eyes without using sate ayam.

HAHAHA. I'm know I'm ridiculous but bear with me please.
*batting eyelashes laju-laju sampai tertanggal bulu mata palsu*

The Ingredients:

|Eyes|
*In the order of how I apply them*

1. Creme Brulee e/s by Makeup Geek
2. Cocoa Bear e/s by Makeup Geek

3. Bad to the Bronze Color Tattoo by Maybelline
4. Bronze color (has no name) e/s by Elianto

5. Dark brown (has no name) e/s by Elianto
6. Shimma Shimma e/s by Makeup Geek

Okay girls, let's begin.
*senteng lengan baju*

Step 1:
Apply Creme Brulee e/s on the crease. Blend it up secukup rasa. At first I applied only a small amount, but later on I went back and blend some more. Since it is a smoky look, you can put generous amount of the blending e/s to make the eyes look really blown. Make sure to really buff it in.

Step 2:
Take Cocoa Bear e/s and darken the crease. Again, blend blend blend! You can put a little bit at first and kalau rasa tak cukup, haa tempek lagi jemah.

Step 3:
Put on Bad to the Bronze cream e/s on the eyelid & layer on bronze powder e/s on top of it. This is to intensify the eyelid and prevent the cream e/s from creasing.

Step 4:
Apply dark brown e/s on the outer V and slightly blend it in the crease, taking it all the way to the front.
You can always add more of the e/s to your preference. You can see in the pictorial below that the first 3 steps look soft but at the end the color look dark and intense. That's because I touch up more of the e/s. This makeup look is really flexible. You can put more or tone it down, which ever you like baby. Ain't nobody gonna stop yauwl.

Step 5:
Take Cocoa Bear e/s and put on the first half of your lower lash line. Then, put the dark brown e/s and smoke out the other half of the lower lash line. Line your water line with black eyeliner and blend it in the e/s that your have on the lower lash fine.

Put Shimma Shimma e/s on the tear duct & brow bone to highlight your eyes. Add on some wing liner and mascara and flip your head like Justin Bieber, cause you're done bebeh!

Terima lah muka kelaparan sate ayam...

Dah macam ayam dah muka aku.

Hello world, meet my hormone-made pimples.
It's that time of the month. Mommy pimple wants to have picnic with the family on my skin. Let them be. They don't know their fate.

*prepping needle*

Till my next breakout.
Toodaloo,

Tutorial #1 : Simple Soft Glow Look

Olaaaa.
This is my first pictorial for a simple go-to eye makeup. Please excuse the pics quality. I'm using the very Tok Kaduk DSLR. And oh, excuse my breakout skins. I was having bad-day skin the day I captured this, and the day after, and every day after.

*depressed*

Quick side note, IF you are planning to do this eye makeup, you do not have to get every product that I used. Of course, you can if you want. But by all means, you can modify this look by using whatever similar products that you own. Sekian.

Oh, and don't mind my sparse eyebrows. I don't trim them. Titik. Noktah. Cinta.

Step 1
Take a soft brown eyeshadow and apply it on your crease. The crease is actually your eye socket. If you have small hooded eyes like me, raba-raba atas kelopak mata sampai jumpa tengkorak mata. Eh? You now what I mean. I always tilt my head back a bit when applying eyeshadow on my crease because I can see and feel them better with my brush.

Here I'm using Creme Brulee eyeshadow by Makeup Geek.

Tonyoh tonyoh sapu sapu secukup rasa.

This step is very crucial to blend everything together. If you don't blend your eyeshadows, they will be left un-blended.

Haha.

But seriously, eye look with harsh lines is a no-no. You might as well just put on your sunglasses until midnight.

Step 2
Take any brown eyeshadow that is slightly darker that previous eyeshadow and put it on the outer V of your eyelid. Blend it in the crease to define it a little bit.

I'm using Cocoa Bear by Makeup Geek.

Like so.

Step 3
Next, put on any shimmery white/gold eyeshadow on the rest of the lid, avoiding the brown on the outer V.

I'm using Afterglow pigment by Makeup Geek.
*Long Live the Makeup Geek*

Take the brush that you used for the brown eyeshadow just now and blend the edges of the white/gold eyeshadow. Unless, if you are using your finger, than take your finger, If you plan to use fork, please. Go ahead, get creative.

Again, this is to eliminate the harsh lines.

Step 4
Take a matte dark brown or black eyeshadow, and intensify the outer V.

I'm using dark brown eyeshadow from Sephora Smoky Studio Pallete.

Step 5
You almost done. Come on girl you can do it.

Take the same brown eyeshadow (Cocoa Bear) and apply on the lower lash line and blend the hell out of it.
Use a shimmery eyeshadow and apply on the tear duct (the spot where taik mata is produced) and below your brow bone.  I'm using Shimma Shimma by Makeup Geek, again.

On my water line, I used Sephora Jumbo Crayon Pencil in number 5, Beige.

Give your eye some flick with your favorite eyeliner. I used Long Wear Gel Line by Bobbi Brown.

Dah siap? Kasi wink wink sikit. Phewittttt.

Step 6
Finally, curl them lashes and put on mascara yauwl.

I'm using maybe its' Maybelline, maybe it's not. The Falsies mascara. You can choose to put on fake eyelashes if that pleases you. I know it pleases me. *buat muka gatai*

Demi Wispies eyelashes by Ardell.

This is the final look.

Gittewww.

Senang tak Kak Ton? Senang kan. Sambil lipat kain pun boleh buat.
Hope this helps and good luck yauwl!

Toodaloo,
Atin the Mak Datin

Makeup 101 : The Foundation

I don't know about yauwl but to me, a look is not complete without a base or foundation on your face. Some people prefer it simple; rocking a simple wing eyeliner and lipstick, and some go heavy with full face makeup with colorful eye look and falsies. Either way, foundation is a must in everyone's makeup routine. Not having foundation on, is like eating nasi lemak without sambal. Or Hari Raya without lemang & ketupat .Or Chinese New Year without lion dancing to the "dum dum dum cheng" beat and batting their eyelashes. Or Chatime without adding on pearl.
Incomplete. Incomplete I tell you.

I am a full coverage foundation girl. No coverage, no talking talking. Full coverage means foundation tebal macam tepung komak. Well, not necessarily tebal, but kalau ditempek terus ketepek hilang parut jerawat, terus linchinnn muka  macam lantai baru lepas kena mop.

Why?
Because I have pretty severe acne problem. Ok, not pretty but tak kan nak letak ugly severe pulak kan. Rosak laptop dengan titisan air mata aku kang.

Yeah, yeah. I know. You must be thinking "What the hell are you doing putting so much on your face when you have skin problem?"
Girl, save it. Read the blog's title, please.

So, I would like to share with you the foundations that I have been using and my thoughts on its coverage and texture and how it looks on my bare skin. If you are blessed with clear skin, damn lucky you, cause you won't need all this heaviness on your face. But if you want to try it anyway, go on. I support you. Not financially, of course.

Without further ado, meet my foundations army.

*claps*claps*

Average people won't need these many, but being a makeup junkie that I am, this is AVERAGE. I need more. *crazy lady alert*

So now let's see how the foundation looks on my skin one by one. But first, I'm gonna show you 1/4 of my acne bare skin so that you have a better idea on the foundation's performance, coverage-wise.

Warning : do not read this when you are eating, or before you are going to bed. You might puke or have a nightmare.

Hey I just met you,
This is crazy
So here's my bare skin,
Don't freak out, maybe?

*ini bukan mangsa dera*

Awww, can you spot the cutesy tiny teensy wheensy white heads? So appealing, right? I think I'm gonna adopt them permanently.

Hahaha.

Perlu lah nak letak watermark bagai. Tidak akan ada manusia yang akan claim ini wajahnya.
Melainkan mereka yang buat iklan New York Skin Solution.
I'm on meds now so I hope ini semua akan tinggal kenangan.

Moving on people!

1. MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 (shade NC30)

This foundation was my very first foundation that I bought, years ago. Back then, I used this a lot. After that, I grew some Malin Kundang in me and kinda put this aside. I used to love it, cause as you see, it covers well with only 1 layer. Pigmentation and coverage-wise, definitely A. But after a while, it turns to be very cakey and heavy on the skin. Cakey as in bertapok ye kawan-kawan, bukan sapu kek karot kat muka.
That is why I don't reach for this very often nowadays. It feels thick. After couple of hours, rasa terkinja-kinja sangat dah nak cuci buang. It is still a good foundation. But I've found better.

*looking at the sky in case there is kilat derhaka awaits*

2. Makeup Forever Professional HD (shade N153 -wrong shade, looks dark on me)

Well now. If you haven't heard of MUFE HD foundation.....

"Oh hey, you finally came out. How was Gua Tempurung?"

Haha. But seriously. This little guy is basically a staple foundation in makeup world. Everybody raves on how it looks natural on the skin and photographs well in pictures, without causing white cast macam tepung Adabi. It claims to be an oil free medium to full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and real life.

BUT..but..but..but..butt *proittt*..

As you can see, it is a medium foundation and is buildable to be full coverage. However, mehhhh I don't fancy it very much. Dah la salah beli shade gelap. Maybe I just have too much to cover so this level of coverage does not work on me. I have used this on my friends who have clearer skin and it looks dashing on them. But for me, memang tidak HD sangat lah. Hanya SSD (So-So Definition) sahaja.

 3. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow (shade Beige - one shade darker)

Actually, I'm kinda a noob in selecting the perfect shade for my skin. I have bought 4 foundations that are too dark or too light for me and ended up mixing them to get the right shade. Bajet pro, beginilah.
My advice, swatch the foundation slightly below your chin (if you already have makeup on), instead on your hand.

Now how do I describe this one? It's thick but not that thick. It's liquid-y but not so runny. Lebih kurang macam krim susu pekat manis bersuhu bilik. Tu diaaaa, gitu reference dia.

I like this one. Coverage is pretty good. Of course for me I need more than 1 layer + concealer.
There was one time I went to Taman KLCC masa matahari rembang and fuhhh was I dripping sweats. Kalut tengok cermin sebab memang rasa berlemoih dah foundation and boom! I looked 'Wow!'. The foundation sits still on the face and it glows bagaikan bunga-bunga matahari.

4. Revlon Colorstay (shade 310 Warm Golden - a tad bit light for my skintone)

I plead innocent for this case. The shade is undeniably light for me but the next shade called Early Tan is no matchy matchy either. I can imagine myself look like ikan temenung bersalut kunyit if I use that shade.

This foundation is pretty thick and feels kinda "eeee apa neh" when you put on. Haha. Worst description ever. It dries out so fast that you need to buff it in your skin quickly. I'm talking about shaking-your-hand-like- Eminem-when-he-raps kinda fast. When you first apply, it feels heavy. But when your natural oil starts forming and blends with the foundation, uuuuu gewrlllll you gonna look meletop-letop macam ikan keli dalam kuali panas. It looks absolutely stunning, I kid you not.

5. Loreal True Match (shades N3 & N7)

Again with the wrong shade selection *hides my face in the fridge*.

But this one I love. I love it so much that I didn't mind going back to get another shade to mix. Texture-wise, OMG. Coverage-wise, OMG. Price-wise, O to the M to the G. I'm so excited to talk about this guy that my hands tremble. Apakah ini chenta?

It feels water-y when applied. It's lightweight, does not feel heavy (duhh!), smooth and conceals amazingly. I just need a slight concealer dab to hide whatever acne scarring that peaks through. Heck, sometimes I feel like I can get away with only the foundation itself. Cause it's that good! Staying power is great, does not cake up on your face & super easy to blend. Gahhhh, I love love it. It is even better than high end foundation out there. Get this, if you haven't already. Kamon girl, move it move it. Go get it. Kalau Watson dah tutup ketuk sampai bukak.

6. Loreal Lucent Magique Light-Infusing (shade N7)

I bought this one cause it was 50% off and I couldn't say I regret it. This is the right color for me *brushes shoulder off*.

This foundation is a little bit thicker than Loreal True Match but it possesses almost equivalent great quality. It does not feel heavy on the face and it is pretty pigmented. But this foundation does not hold up well. I can see it starts to wear off after 3-4 hours. Too bad. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a long staying power foundation.

7. Urban Decay Naked Skin (shade 5.0)

Perfect shade. Boo-yah! *brushes shoulder off twice*

This is definitely one of my favs. It is soooo light on the face that you can barely feel you are wearing a foundation. And it does not look like you are wearing one either, hence the name : Naked Skin. Uuuuu I feel sexay. Haha.

Pigmentation : Checked.
Coverage : Checked.
Texture : Checked.

I cannot say enough great things about this foundation. It really lives up to the hype and worth every RM spent. Atin loves it.

Euw, did I say that?

Phew, that was a lot to process right? I hope I didn't bore you. If I did, you probably have hit pangkah & won't be seeing this right now *tergedik berlari menangis di bucu katil*

Thanks a lot for reading this. I hope my rambling helps you in picking your foundation. Remember, the true beauty is yourself. Makeup is just a tool to magnify & enhancing what you already have.

Till my next rambling.

Toodaloo,
Atin the Mak Datin
