Tutorial #14 : Violet Galaxy Makeup Look

Hello beautiful.

Today's look revolves around some blue violet purple-ish color with reminds me a lot of galaxy bima sakti dragon ball ada 7 bijik semuanya. Haha. I used mainly the eyeshadows from Urban Decay Electric palette and I love love love how it turns out.

Step #1:
Prime your eyelids to prevent the e/s from creasing. Then take any soft pink, I used Makeup Geek's e/s in the shade Cupcake and swipe it on the socket of the eye. Blend the e/s upwards secukup rasa sesedap hati sedingin angin gemerlapan malam. Ewah kau nak mekap ke nak zapin.

Excuse my greasy skin. I usually fix them up after I've done my eyes.

Step #2:

Take Revolt e/s from the UB Electric palette and put it on the 1/3 of the eyelid and on the inner corner. It's okay to put just a sheer layer of it cause later on you can go back and intensify it.

Step #3:

Mix Gonzo and Chaos from the same palette and load it on the 2/3 of the eyelid.

Step #4:

Take Urban and load it on the outer corner of the eyelid. Then you just need to whatever left on the brush and blend it with the blue e/s and also on the crease. The key here is to blend blend blend sampai patah tangan.

Step #5:

I said step, but I really meant here is steps. Haha.

Take Revolt, the silver e/s and put it on the inner corner. Then take any purple eyeliner and put it on the waterline. I used Sephora Crayon eyeliner in Purple Stilettos for that.

Next, mixing Gonzo and Urban, put it on the lower lashline and blend it using Cupcake e/s.
I forgot to highlight my brow bone here but you can go ahead and do that.

Throw in some wing eyeliner, mascara and falsies, and it's finished!

Now off you go pergi berjoyah bergebang dengan mata violet galaxy.

Have fun!

OOTD : Floral Garden by the Ocean

"Life is like the ocean,
It can be calm and still,
Or rough and rigid,
But in the end, it is always beautiful"

This OOTD was not taken by the ocean by the way. What's with my title? Lempang lah diri ini. Lempanglah.

But I really wish that I was swirling around at a floral garden that is surrounding an ocean though. This outfit is inspired by that imagination. Angan-angan jadi impian. Impian jadi cita-cita. Heyhooo.

Pernah ke tidak awak tengok saya pakai sekewrttt tak berterbangan melayang-layang bagaikan dilempang angin persisiran pantai ombak jahat?

When I first laid my eyes on this floral printed instant shawl, I knew I had to get it. I didn't put a lot of thought on the outfit to match the shawl. Buy first, match later. Shopaholic motto. High five gewrl!

I was really in daze when I received this instant shawl. Gewrlll how you put this thang on? What do you mean instant? This is complicated. But once I've figured it out, oh my oh my, I could not put this shawl down. It's so easy, it's instantly styled and you don't need to belit-belit buat kelepet kiri kanan pusing ikut sini keluar ikut sinun and all that. It's stylish, flowy, drapes beautifully and labuh. And the floral print is so gorgeous! Like a floral garden by the beach punya gorgeous.

Matched is with dusty pink satin blouse and an electric blue (itu yang feeling ocean sangatnya tu) skirt and off I went swirling in front of my house....and embarrassing my mother that had to take my pictures.

Review : Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation

Oh hello there.

Today I'm reviewing another foundation in my collection which is Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation. I bought this at Parkson Pavilion, KL at the Chanel counter for RM168. Yelah Chanel lah, takkan beli dekat KFC pulak kan.

I asked the BA to remove my makeup partially around my chin area because I wanted to swatch it directly on my face. I tried two shades, 30 Beige & 40 Beige before I decided to pick up the later shade.
Which was  a _____ decision.

A what? A bad or a perfect decision? Haha keep on reading. Or you know, just skip to the bottom.
*interlocking your fingers tight so you can't scroll down*
("All of Me" playing on the background)

As mentioned earlier, I picked up the shade 40 Beige. On  Chanel website, it claims to give:
-“Multi-faceted” radiance, colour, comfort and matte finish
- Perfect correction of all types of imperfections: redness and dark spots
- Optimal radiance created by the patented** Perfect Light Control Complex for an even, luminous complexion all day long

Well, we shall see. Let's see how this foundation looks on my skin. After that, I will break it down to you what my thoughts are on its coverage, consistency, shades and all that jazz.

My naked face. As you can see I have a lot of redness and acne scars. Isn't my skin just perfect for foundation review? So you can see how well the coverage is.
#positivemind

One layer applied to only half of my face.

As you can see, my skin and acne scar are still peeking through even though the foundation does a great job in covering the redness. Looks pretty natural and smooth.

Now, I applied second layer to the same side of my face.

Layering up the foundation does help in giving fuller coverage. It looks like my foundation is built up but somehow still looks natural.

This foundation has medium build-able coverage & the texture is a bit runny but is not thick at all. I don't think it gives a matte finish as it claims to be but I could see the radiance finish. Personally I love a foundation with a suffice pinch of luminousity than a flat matte foundation, even though I have oily skin. It doesn't cake up your face and it leaves your skin looking smooth, natural and glowy. Loveeeee *high pitch*

And if I could give only 1 cookie point to any of the awesome traits that this foundation has, it would be the scent of it. Oh the smell. It has a very pleasant fruity rose-y smell. I don't know if it smells like fruits or flowers but I feel like I'm lying on a bed full of roses, with the sounds of birds chirping and the ocean breeze. Seriously, the scent makes me happy.

Now, nothing is perfect in this world. There are some downsides that I found with this foundation. First of all, well I don't know if this can count as a downside or not. But it makes me sigh. When Mommy's start sighing, you know something has gone reaaallll bad. This foundation oxidizes. *sighs* I don't know if you can tell from my completed makeup look above, but after a while the foundation starts to oxidize and it looks a little muddy on me. It definitely has yellow undertone but somewhat it turns pinker on me. So, if you plan to buy it, I would suggest you to go for a shade lighter. And to fill in the blank earlier,
It was a WRONG decision. I should have taken Beige 30. Oh well.

After 4 hours, my face starts to look oily. It's like "radiant" has gone rouge. I'm talking about filling up cooking oily in spray bottle and spraying your face for 5 minutes. Super oily. So, if you have oily skin and you couldn't be bother to blot or touch up your face constantly, this is not for you.

PROS:
- Has pleasant smell. Are you surprised that's my first pro? Hehe.
- Gives luminous and radiance finish
- Doesn't look cakey even if you layer it up
- Great coverage to cover up redness, pimples & scars and to even out the skin
- Lightweight and long wearing
- Has a pump

CONS:
- Oxidizes
- Turns oily after 4 hours. Not recommended for oily skin

MY FINAL VERDICT:
I honestly really love this foundation. I love the finishes, the coverage, the smell. Although I said it is not recommended for oily skin and it is oily after several hours, I can put up with that. Even when it starts to look oily, the foundation still held on nicely and doesn't look cakey. From a distance my face looks like JLo after her Zumba class. Come closer and you might burn your eyes. Minyak memercik.

Phewww..that was long. I wrote too much. I must be sick. I think I'm gonna lie down now.

Review : Stila Eyes Are the Window Shadow Palette [SOUL]

Hai. Hai.

Awak kat mana awak awak kat mana?

As you may see in one of the things jumbled in my previous haul, I got my gemok hands on the new Stila Eyes Are the Window Shadow palette. They are 4 palettes in this collection, inspired by the spiritual notion that true beauty is revealed from within. They are named Mind, Body, Spirit & Soul and each palette contains 12 lavish eyeshadows. The palettes range from matte to shimmery, they have warm neutral palette, cool toned palette, some coppery reddish palette and colorful palette.

And oh boy, was I meditating in front of Stila section for God knows how long.

"We must take it all, precious. They all shall be ours."

"But Smeagol needs only one."

"No you fool. Take them all! Take them! *coughs*gollum*coughs*"

Luckily, I have some Samwise Gamgee kept in me and he was the one who snapped me out of it. So I made my way forward, decided to take Soul and gave myself a "good job" pat on the back while I was at it.

The palette retails for RM165 and what caught my eyes the most was its luxury looking gold-rose gold packaging. It has 3 "S" letters embroidered on the front of the packaging and all the eyeshadow names are written on the back.

You will find a quote written on a plastic when you open the palette. For Soul palette it says:

"Since love grows within you, so beauty grows.
For love is beauty of the soul"
-Saint Augustine

Pehhhhhh...deep siot. Rasa begitu Arjune Beta. Haha.

Now onto the eyeshadows and the swatches.

Light - A matte light beige color. It's a bit powdery but quite pigmented.

Individual - Warm toned mid brown with matte reddish undertone. I love this as transition color on the crease.

Being - Dark brown color with warm undertone and this has matte finish. Great color for a smokey eye look.

Kitten - A classic cult favorite eyeshadow from Stila. A shimmery champagne color with frosty metallic finish. Love this for highlighting the inner corner and on the brow bone.

Affection - A warm coppery color with frosty finish.

Character - Medium dark brown with red sparkles in it. The sparkles don't show up that much though on the lid and this eyeshadow is the least pigmented in this palette. You have to layer it on several times for the color to even show up. Mehhhh.

Thought - It is a bronzed pewtery color with frosty formulation. Love the pigmentation and the sheen finish that it gives.

Heart - This eyeshadow has a good mix of taupe and rosy pink color. It is a matte eyeshadow and is great as blending color.

Peace - Medium dark coppery color with frosty finish. Oooo..kay...Haha dry gila explanation.

Vitality - Bright gold with warm yellow undertones. Again, it's a frosty finish and it has metallic sheen formulation. I would pick this as the second least pigmented eyeshadow from this palette.

Substance - Medium dark silver gray with frosty finish. Pigmentation is good and goes on smoothly as well.

Essence - Yeah, a good old black is always an essence in every palette. A matte medium black that is not intensely opaque.

I posted pictorial on this eye makeup look HERE

PROS:
- Consist of variety finish and formulation, from matte to frosty and metallic sheen
- Great earthy neutral colors selection
- The palette consist all necessary eyeshadow so you don't have to jump from this palette to another palette; it has blending color (major BIG point for me), highlighting color, light color for softer look and dark color for smokey look
- Most of the colors are opaque
- Beautiful and luxurious looking packaging
- Compact and handy

CONS:
- There are some disappointing eyeshadow in term of pigmentation
- I said in the pros that most of the colors are opaque. But get this, it is not intensely opaque. It's tad bit higher than a decent level
- I would say the price is not at par with all the eyeshadow qualities

MY FINAL VERDICT:
This palette provides great neutral shades if you are into that. The eyeshadows with frosty metallic finish have better pigmentation and the colors are stunning. Granted, there are some that don't give good color pay-off but you can build the intensity to your liking. The palette is great for travelling as it is very handy and not bulky. Also, this palette has it all; from blending color to highlighting color so it is very convenient that you don't have to bring other palette. Or you can. Who can stop you? You rule the world. Haha.
