Review : Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation

I just got myself a brand new Kat Von D foundation yauwl. So naturally, I just had to do a review on this mind blowing foundation. Wanna know why it's mind blowing? Keep on reading. Go on, keep on keep on.

It claims to be a high-pigment foundation for full coverage with long lasting, beautiful finish. It's 24 hour wear foundation, transfer resistant, provides matte finish, fragrance free, oil-free and for all skin types.

I got the shade medium M54 (I'm an NC30 for MAC foundation) and this shade came out a bit lighter on my skin at first but when I finished applying my full face makeup, it turned out to be a perfect match. Maybe it oxidizes?

I just cannot describe how high coverage this foundation is. It's the highest of the highest coverage foundation I have ever tried in my life. If you don't already know, I have an acne-prone skin and I'm always on the lookout for full coverage foundation. Even with the high coverage foundation that I own (click HERE to see my foundation demo), my blemishes are always peeking through so I need to conceal them with concealer.

Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know,
Well now they know.

But, with the Kat Von D foundation, no they won't know.
Let it go, let it gooooo~

Okay, I'm gonna shut up now and let my pictures here do the talking.

Excessive duck pout alert.

I was heading out so I did my eyes first. Because if I didn't, it will take me like, oh I don't know, maybe FOREVER for me to get ready after I took these pictures.

These pictures didn't even do me justice, cause my acne scars are redder than these. Eh? Redder is actually a word. Haha.

With 1 layer of Kat Von D foundation, lo and behold......

Bam!! No girl I got me no photoshop.

This is only 1 layer of foundation, with no setting powder.
It must be some kind of sorcery I tell you.

At first you can see I look like I just jatuh tersembam muka masuk dalam bancuhan tepung cucur ikan bilis Adabi. But after I did my full face makeup, it oxidized and beautifully matched my skin tone.

Walaaaa. For the first time in NOT EVER, I never had to use any concealer to cover up my blemishes. I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory. The formula of this foundation is very thick. Yet it does not feel heavy on the skin and does not cake up. It's ideal for us, the oily greasy monster community. Haha.

I don't know how 24 hours long wearing it is, but I noticed after around 7 hours, the oil of my face starts to surfaced and made the foundation smear a little bit. But after touching up with translucent powder, the world becomes a better place again.

MY FINAL VERDICT

Application : 4/5
Despite being a thick foundation that it is, it applies very smooth and easily.

Pigmentation : 5/5
Really? Do I need to tell you more?

Texture : 4/5
Thick and heavy. Definitely not your everyday light weight my-natural-skin-but-better foundation. But it does not feel like you just slap on 5kg of cement on your face either. It's comfortable.

Longevity : 3.5/5
I would say the foundation held up pretty nicely throughout 7 hours of wearing before I started to look like cekodok baru lepas angkat dari kuali again. But nothing a blotting paper or touch up powder can't solve.

So, all in all, I loveeeee this foundation. It works like magic and definitely will be my staple foundation.
Although the foundation claims more than it proves to be, it is still a great foundation to have.

If you suffer from acne prone skin like me, you need this in your life. Seriously sister. Get it pronto.
It's not available in Malaysia (boooooo!) but I pre-ordered it from The Fashionette Sisters.

Review : Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick (Babette & Geradium)

Hello beautiful people.

If you are a beauty Youtuber fanatic and you have your dinner in front of your laptop watching makeup tutorials by beauty gurus, you most likely would have known how Lime Crime lipsticks are being used in heaps and heaps of tutorials. I get so hooked when the beauty gurus talk about mutual products repeatedly that I practically need to clean my floor afterwards cause it's flooded with my drools.

My biggest influences have always been my fav beauty gurus, Nicole Guerriero & Jaclyn Hill. Seriously these two beauties can be the ambassador for EVERY cosmetics cause they make EVERYTHING looks beautiful that you are so convinced you can't breath another second without having them.

So anyways, I went to Lime Crime's website and was glad to find that they do ship internationally even to Malaysia at a flat rate of $10.95 (~RM37). I knew in my heart that I need to get my lips on 2 shades, Babette & Geradium. Geradium was available but as for Babette, being one of the most demanded shades, of course it was sold out at that time. Surprise surprise. I didn't get Geradium yet cause I didn't want to waste money on the shipping fee for one tube of lipstick. See? Self control.
*flips shawl*

So I entered my email to be notified when Babette is back in stock. After almost 2 months later, I got an email notifying that Babette is available to be purchased online. Tunggu lagi? Memang gedebuk gedebak pelepuk pelepak terus order both Babette & Geradium. Nampak tak? Laju kan?
Self control? Girl, I don't understand a word you're saying.

After 2 weeks++, they finally arrived at my doorsteps. Haaaaaaa~ (that's an angelic sound over there).

First of all, the box itself wins my heart. When I opened it and saw the unicorn & polka dots print with a neat and bright green wrapper inside, I went all "awwwwww". Pfftttt. Woman. Who says they are so hard to predict?

How cute is that? I love how meticulous and attentive Lime Crime is even down to it's packaging. They do understand how the tiniest thing like fancy bright wrapper can make woman goes all squealing in excitement.

Like I said previously, I bought 2 lipsticks in Geradium & Babette. They cost $18 each (~RM61).
They come in soft purple tube with hologram unicorn on it and they have a sweet vanilla scent which the same, if not stronger, as MAC lipsticks.

To me, on the first glance it looks like a toy lipstick. Haha. But that's what makes its so unique. The tube is not your typical sleek black or gold color, and you definitely can't find a unicorn lipstick anywhere else. You pop open your lipstick and people can recognize it from miles away.
"Yeah girl it's Lime Crime alright" *snaps fingers*

(L-R) : Geradium, Babette

Indoor swatches:

Under direct sunlight:

Babette ~

Babette is described as a pastel coral color. It's a beautiful peachy nude with slight sheen formula. It is super super pigmented and creamy. However, while everybody is saying how smooth and easily Babette glides on their lips, I find quite the opposite. One swipe gives the utmost pigmentation but I find the application is a bit jerky. The formula of this lipstick is very thick and somehow it has kinda waxy feel to it.

But fret not, it is still an awesome lipstick. I find its best to blend the color with your finger once you have swiped it on the lips to give a smooth blended look.

Geradium ~

In the website, Geradium is described as a coral pink that is so intense, it might just be radioactive. And they weren't kidding. Geradium is a really unique neon coral color. It's intense and bright that it stained my lips even when I wiped it off with wet tissues. When I was wearing this color, I felt so anxious cause I felt like a bomb squad is gonna break into my house any minute to disable my lips. Haha.

I find Geradium is a tad bit easier to apply than Babette. Pigmentation and texture wise, the BOMB.
*please don't break in through my windows*

MY FINAL VERDICT

Application : 3/5
Like I said, it feels kinda waxy and thick. The application is easy but not that smooth to apply.

Pigmentation : 5/5
Super duper pigmented I tell you. Gives full coverage with one swipe.

Texture : 4/5
The formula of the lipstick is not flat matte, but it's not so glossy as well. It has slight sheen to it and if I were to compare to MAC's lipstick formula, it's in between matte & cremesheen.

Longevity : 4.5/5
Stay put for 5-6 hours and left a stain on the lips even after wiping off.

All in all, I love the unique colors of Lime Crime lipsticks. I think it's almost impossible to find dupe for these lippies. Would love to try other colors next time.

Sephora Haul

It's Sephora haul yauwllll~

In my previous collective haul, I did mention doing some good damages at MAC & Sephora.
Putting good & damages in one sentence, I never felt so majestic. Haha.

Here is what I bought:

1. Benefit the Porefessional - RM115
Who hasn't heard about this primer, pergi korek tanah belakang rumah and hide yourself in there please.

2. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Turn On - RM75
A beautiful bright rosy pink. So so so so so...wait for it..so so so so some more...creamy and insanely pigmented! I want them all!

3. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked - RM75
A nude pink with moderate sheen. Love this as well. In fact I love them all. I didn't buy all of them because please, we know I have some self-control.

4. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Double Ended Eye Pencil in Naked2 - RM57
I've been wanting to get Perversion which is by far the BLACKEST eye pencil I've ever tried on. Then I saw this new double ended eye pencil line at Sephora which made me toink toink toink lompat lompat. Perversion is paired with another eye pencil color; Pistol on the other end which is this metallic grey brownish color. You get two at the price cheaper than single pencil (which has more product obviously), why not people? Ask yourself, why not?
And there goes the self-control. Teehee.

5. Stila Eyeshadow Pan in Kitten - RM60
A frosty nude champagne color with a lot of luminous shimmer. Pretty as highlight and all over eyelid color. Very creamy as well. Can't wait to do some tutorial using this.

6. Stila Eyeshadow Pan in Twig - RM60
A beautiful (semua pun nak beautiful kan) mahogany deep red brownish color. Love!! *faints*

Sighs. Sephora oh Sephora. Who can leave the place with empty hands?

Full review & swatches coming up next!

Collective Haul : MAC Cosmetics

Assalammualaikum.
Hye hye hye!

Last month I went a bit cray cray with beauty shopping. I went to MAC twice and somehow made my way to Sephora. I also made an online purchase as well as a pre-order for some makeup stuff. Come on, don't look at me like that. Let's get real. You can never had too much of makeup. You always need everything something.

Wow, I can really see myself with some biskut kering cicah air mineral Spritzer at the dark corner of my house, wearing dark smokey eyes and bold lipstick with sheen lip gloss on top, till the next payday.
Nampak tak? Makan biskut pun kena makeup. Haha.

Here are the damages done at MAC cosmetics. Who would have thought doing damages actually felt so good? Except for my purse. Thank God purses don't bite. Phew.

BEAUTIFUL, aren't they? Here is what I got for myself:

1. MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam II (Satin) - RM68
A nice pink mauve nude lipstick with smooth satin finish.

2. MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup (Cremesheen) - RM68
Pretty pale baby pink lipstick. I was torn between Creme Cup and Angel which both are the beauty junkie cult favorite, but I went with this one because it's pinker than Angel.

3. Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre - RM75
I wanted to try eye base that can cover the uneven color of my lid entirely and MAC paint pot looks like it has great pigmentation for that. Hope it holds the eyeshadows on my greasy eyelids well too.

4. Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 - RM72
Need it for concealing and highlighting under my eyes. I have tried other brightening concealers and they are nothing compared to this one. This pro longwear concealer does not crease at all. At All. AT ALL. I have in other shades but I wanted lighter color for highlighting.

5. Studio Perfect Foundation Refill in NC30 - RM145
I have been using this foundation powder since before the makeup monster in me was unleashed. Been purchasing the refill ever since when I ran out.

6. Eye Shadow in Star Violet - RM49
A brown burgundy with creamy veluxe pearl finish. My very first MAC eyeshadow homaikambeng I'm so excited! I bought it in pan instead of compact because I want to stick it in my Z-palette.

7. Blush in Peaches (Sheertone) - RM80
I call this my destiny blush. I originally wanted this shade, but the promoter convinced me to buy another shade called Peachykeen instead. And me, being the easily persuaded woman said "Wokeh, gimme that one lah". When I got back, I was surprised to see Peaches instead of Peachykeen. Looks like he accidentally put Peaches since the names are a bit similar. I didn't bother going back because all I could hear was "you are my destiny, geudae, you are my destiny, geudae". Berkumandang lagu OST You Who Came From the Star.

8. Prep & Prime CC Cream - Free Sample
Get it now why I love MAC? Free samples! Total score. Will let you know my take up on this.

That is it. It feels so right listing these all down and adding some justifications as to why I bought them. Haha.
I shall come out with full reviews & swatches for these new babies.

Stay tuned!

Till my next guilty damages with reasons & justifications,
Atin the makeup addict *srot srotttt*
